The Story

Founded in 2005, by Mads and Mikkel Kornerup, Shamballa Jewels was born out of the brothers´ desire to make understated fine jewellery. Their joint determination came to fruition when the Shamballa Bracelet, the company´s design icon, earned global recognition and success, when the famous rap musician, Jay Z, custom ordered the bracelet.
The iconic Shamballa bracelet is made in 18K gold with 10mm beads in diamonds, gold or precious stones, braided on a string using an ancient macramé technique. The brothers continued to develop the iconic bracelet design further, adding different bead sizes, with or without braiding - adding more possibilities to create a highly individual piece of jewellery.
In 2011, the Lock bracelet was introduced - made with customizable flat beads, instead of round beads. Taking the concept of customisation one step further, the Lock Bracelet is reversible, offering the opportunity to reveal a whole new look when flipped. Through time the fine jewellery repertoire has been expanded to also include rings, earrings and cufflinks, as well as pendants and necklaces.
All Shamballa Jewels jewellery is imbued with the Star of Shamballa – the recurring motif of Shamballa Jewels. The brand expresses symbolism derived from ancient Eastern philosophies, translated into Nordic craftsmanship using Scandinavian design principles. Appealing to discerning collectors looking for something that goes far beyond what is simply luxury, the company strives to remind people of a purposeful life through by bringing meaning into their individual expression.
Today, the Spirit of Shamballa Jewels is driven by innovation, meaningfulness, ancient symbology and Nordic design aesthetics. We are honoured to count Karl Lagerfeld, HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway, Carine Roitfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Von Furstenberg and Giorgio Armani amongst the discerning collectors of our jewellery.
